Thomas D. Murtha

Tom Murtha is a transactional real estate attorney focusing on affordable housing financing. Tom specializes in representing Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and special purpose funds meeting Community Reinvestment Act objectives in providing funding for the acquisition, development, and operation of affordable housing.

 

For over 20 years, Tom worked in the City Attorney’s Office of the City of San Jose representing, at times, the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Jose and the City’s Housing Department. Tom received his law degree in 1985 from Santa Clara University where he graduated magna cum laude. He also received his undergraduate degree from Santa Clara University in 1982.

Tom was born in San Jose, where he still lives with his wife, Lynn. Tom has three children and is a San Francisco 49ers and Giants fan. Tom is also an avid reader.
