With 38 years of experience representing clients in a wide range of business and litigation
matters, Paul Avilla is adept at assessing risk and helping clients avoid litigation.

If litigation erupts, Paul is a seasoned veteran in paper wars that are often waged, but his
primary objective is to guide the case into position for a favorable settlement for his client. When
settlement is not possible, Paul is an accomplished trial lawyer whose professional achievements
in the courtroom have earned him the distinguished AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating by
Martindale Hubbell® and selection as a California Super Lawyer.

In the age of legal specialization, Paul Avilla has developed a uniquely broad background in
litigation involving real estate, business relationships, contract disputes and employment.  That
background enables him to quickly learn about his clients’ businesses, assess their needs and
develop an effective strategy to solve whatever problem is presented.

Paul has served on the Executive Committee of the Labor and Employment Section of the
California State Bar. He was also selected to serve on the committee that drafted the jury
instructions that are used in employment jury trials in California. He also served as a member of
the Executive Committee of the William A. Ingram Inn of Court, an organization of attorneys,
judges and laws students that promotes professionalism and excellence in the practice of law.
Paul also serves as an arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association in consumer
arbitrations.

Paul was born and raised in Silicon Valley. He attended UCLA, where he received a B.A. in
Economics. He received his law degree from Pepperdine University, where he was a published
member of the Pepperdine Law Review and a member of the Moot Court Board.
